Connect Your Messenger

Learn to connect your Messenger with MyAlice, what you need to get started, and why you should do so.

Requirements to Get Started

You need to —

  1. A Supervisor or Admin on MyAlice to access Channel Settings.

  2. The owner or admin of a Facebook page.

Use Cases for Messenger + MyAlice

  1. Your business Messenger account(s) gets a lot of messages every day.

  2. You manage other social media channels as well.

  3. There are not enough resources to reply to every customer query in time.

  4. You want to manage customer messages from different Messenger accounts from a single dashboard.

  5. You also want to automate at least 50% of your customer conversations.

Connect Your Messenger Account

1. Go to Channel Settings under the Settings tab.

2. Select Messenger and Add Channel.

3. Once you are done adding a title and a description for your channel, click Create.

4. Turn on the connection toggle and you will find a pop-up invitation to connect with Facebook.

5. After you are done logging into your Facebook account, select the pages you want to connect with MyAlice and click Next.

6. Facebook will ask for your permission to connect MyAlice. Make sure all the toggles are turned on and click on Done.

Congratulations! 🥳 You've created a Messenger Channel on MyAlice. Now start creating custom user journeys on our Builder to delight your customers.

Connect Multiple Messenger Accounts

If you have already connected Messenger account before, your steps should look a bit different.

1. Click on Add a Channel.

2. Once you are done adding a title and a description for your channel, click Create.

3. Turn on the connection toggle and you will find a pop-up invitation to connect with Facebook.

4. Click on Connect to Facebook, and you will find a message that says that you've already connected to MyAlice before. Click Edit Settings.

6. Select the page(s) you want to connect, turn on the permissions and click OK.

Congratulations! 🥳 You've added multiple Messenger accounts on MyAlice. Now you can reply to and automate customer conversations on multiple pages from a single dashboard.

Follow the same steps to connect more Messenger accounts.

Edit Messenger Channel Settings

1. Go to Channel Settings under the Settings tab.

2. Click on the ... icon under Actions and select Edit Channel.

In the first part of the pop-up, you can edit your —

  • Channel Title

  • Page Name

  • Page Link

  • Channel Description.

2. Create Persistent Menu

The second part of the pop-up allows you to add a persistent menu in Messenger.

What is a Persistent Menu?

Messenger allows you to place a maximum of three static buttons under your chat window so that your customers can go back to Home or perform a common action easily. These are called Persistent Menus.

Common Persistent Menus include —

  1. Home

  2. Back

  3. Website

  4. Talk to Support

  5. Book a Demo

  6. Products/Services

How to Add Persistent Menus

Put the title for your menu and select a sequence/URL where you can redirect your users.

For example, our users are redirected to the welcome sequence when they press Home. They can also directly book a demo or talk to support from the Messenger inbox.

The last part of the pop-up allows you to edit NLP Settings.
